It Can't Be!!

I'm not sure when, or exactly how it happened... but somehow, the sweet little baby that
I broken-heartedly dropped off at the sitter's in the morning before work, turned into a
beautiful and exceptional young woman.





My baby turned 16 on June 30th... where does the time go? I love you Lumpkin!!!!

I felt bad for Leia... the only child of a one-dog family, soooo when a patient let me know that she had a puppy, I thought it would be a fabulous idea to get Leia a playmate.

Yeah, they're just playing, but the racket they're making is like a room full of toddlers! Wonder what the neighbors are saying when they hear me scolding them for playing too rough?

Craft Oops!

Ever have one of those funny craft moments when you realize that what you thought you were going to make is entirely different than what you end up holding in your hands? Well, I had one of those moments over the weekend. I was going to take these beautiful fabric scraps...



And make some tiny fabric yo-yos... which, by the way, I've never made before, but how hard could it be, right? Apparently I need to read Crafting for Dummies, because what I came up with resembled something more like a small wad of fabric. Pointers anyone? But, refusing to do anything except make lemonade out of lemons, I decided that the small wads of fabric sort of looked like small flowers. Thirty minutes and 3 fingers covered in super glue later...




I made the cutest little barrette! I even have requests for a few more. I'm going to make several to put into my new Etsy shop that I'm working on. Stay tuned for the grand opening!

A Happy Sad Day

It is an unusual day. I'm so thankful for the blessings I've received. I have a wonderful daughter and every day with her is special and unique. But today also reminds me how very much I miss my Mom. She was amazing. Her attributes are too lengthy to list completely. I only hope that I can be half as wonderful a mother to my daughter. Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I love you.

Am I Proud? Yes, As a Matter of Fact, I AM!

She gets a little embarrassed when I brag about her, but I just can't help myself! I'm sure if I had more children, I'd love them just as much, but she's my only one and my world! I think she's beautiful, but more importantly, she's one of the nicest kids I know.

Life and Goodwill

I had good intentions. Actually, I have them a LOT! I went to the super-awesome Goodwill Shop and Hop with a bunch of really cool ladies and thoroughly enjoyed myself! We had one month to take our finds and come up with a finished product. The event was hosted by these lovely ladies above... Beckie @ Infarrantly Creative and Sarah @ Thrifty Decor Chick. (Gotta check them out!)

We started our day at Bucca De Beppo (YUM!) I sat at a table with a group of ladies that I'd never met, we chatted and got to know each other a little before we started out in the rain for our big adventure. I was sooo proud of myself for remembering to take my camera. We got to the first Goodwill, and the camera died when I attempted to take the first picture. Guess who forgot the new batteries? So needless to say, I've borrowed these pics from the other gal's posts. (Thanks!)

Seriously! It was this much fun all day! In spite of the steady rain, we found some amazing bargains and I met some fabulously creative women. I can't wait to go again!

Have I completed my projects? No. Procrastinator that I am, I thought "Oh, I'll have plenty of time". THEN I got bronchitis, sinusitis, missed over one week of work and in the middle of all that, my Papaw passed away. So now I'm back, ready to take on the world, and hopefully finish those projects!
