A Super Exciting New Venture!!!

I have to say it. I wimped out. My back couldn't handle standing for 8 hours on concrete floors at the second job I picked up. I fought with myself for one week, trying to decide if I should give it another go. But the two days it took to recover from one shift were enough to make that decision for me. So I had to come up with a Plan B.

I joined Tastefully Simple as a new consultant. My kit just arrived today and I'm so excited! My first party is tomorrow evening and I'm the host. I've been a fan of several of their items for quite a while. You may have seen my earlier post about the beer bread... it's awesome! There are so many tasty treats that are simple to make by adding one or two ingredients. My favorite way to cook!!!

Please check out my web page and browse the catalog. (Of course my feelings won't be hurt if you decide to place an order... ;)

When you go to my web page, view the catalog, place an order. After you place the order, it should ask you if you would like to attach the order to a host... click yes and search for Devonay Potter. If that doesn't work, let me know, and I will help!

A Sneak Peek (Just for Jodi)

This is the "before" picture. Sorry for the darkness. My kitchen doesn't have the
best lighting.

(That's right folks! $1.50!!)

This is the blurry "during" picture... Mod Podge is so awesome!

Stay tuned, I'll be posting the after pics this week!

I Adore Aprons

It's true. A little known bit of trivia about me. I adore aprons. Not just any aprons, but vintage, soft, gently worn and reminiscent of my Grandma Stanton and my Great Grandma Cordie. I think it's because they take me back to a time when life was simpler and you were pretty sure that the world must revolve around you.

I have an apron that belonged to Grandma Cordie. It's nothing fancy, just an every day half-apron with red and blue diamond shapes on it, but I love it. I would loved to have been given one of Grandma Stanton's aprons, there are surely one or two out there somewhere. So many memories...

On my list of must-do projects, a couple of aprons are at the top of the list. My family might chuckle. I don't make it to the kitchen every day, but maybe if I had an apron I loved....I just might!!!!

(I'm pretty sure I won't need the boots!) ;)

Just A Little Eye Candy

No particular reason for this post. I just love a good looking man. It's a weakness. Gotten me into trouble more times than I care to count.

It's not just the fine looks though. These particular gentlemen have that certain
little something extra. It's the sexy confidence they exude.

Seriously, something about that wicked little grin.... gets me every time.

It has been a while since I've posted anything to my blog. I started out with the best of intentions and life got in the way. I so love reading all of the other blogs and I've lost count of
the number of tutorials I've viewed and the many projects I want to start. I did manage to try
a couple of the things I've learned from other blogs, and will post pics soon. Today I just wanted to talk a little about the hopes I have for a new year. I'm trying not to dwell on the negativity of
the struggles I faced in the last half of 2009. Starting out small, I've made a few changes, but I'm here to tell you, Look out world...the big changes are coming!

Dear Mom,
Another Thanksgiving has come and gone without you.
How I wish you'd been there with us. Guess what? I
didn't cry this time! I still miss you every day...

You're never far from my thoughts.

Due to recent technical difficulties and an exciting new social life,
I may be offline until the weekend. ;)
