This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
This post concerns Walgreens and Express Scripts. For those that don't know, Walgreens is a chain of drugstores/pharmacies that are in most towns. I had heard of Express Scripts because previously I have worked in physician's offices. You may use Express Scripts or know someone who does.
Express Scripts has decided that Walgreens will no longer be in its network. You can read more about it here: Walgreens and Express Scripts
Express Scripts didn't renew their contract with Walgreens, so they are no longer "in network". This means that customers will have to find new pharmacies. Walgreens is convenient, offers a wide range of products and is easy to find in most cities. I love picking up my scripts from their drive-thru windows. Express Scripts, is promoting their mail order pharmacy. Of course I realize that the information is from Walgreens standpoint, but there are a lot of people affected by this. Included in this is Tricare, which is insurance for the military. Walgreens will no longer be in network for them. Walgreens tried to negotiate the Tricare contract separately, but they weren't able to come to an agreement. Walgreens wants to support and serve the military. Walgreens is trying to help by offering discounts , by informing the media and getting the information out to the public. Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens
