Feng Shui

Feng Shui
feng· shui (fuŋ′s̸hwā′, -s̸hwē′)
the Chinese practice of choosing and arranging work and living spaces to promote balance, comfort, etc., as in locating building sites or placing furniture.

That is a short definition. But if you read up on it, it is really so much more. Feng Shui is an Eastern philosophy and there are no shortage of books to read on the subject. My Mom and I became interested in the subject many years ago. She dabbled a little, and went so far as to make a few small changes in their home and business areas and was happy with the results.

I'm going to talk less about the subject of Feng Shui and more about the responsibility of being the author of a blog. I have been away from my blog for some time now due to personal reasons. However, before I left my blog, I had been exploring opportunities to make some additional income to help Lumpkin and I. I grow tired of struggling. I have struggled my entire adult life. But I digress, there are no shortcuts. I had added a website that I did not do my homework on. I am too trusting. It is not in my nature to cheat people, and I am still naive enough to think that others are the same.

I received an angry email from one of my readers this morning because she had made a substantial purchase from a particular Feng Shui website I had featured and had a very bad experience. I am apologizing to you, my readers, because it was not my intention to offer an untrustworthy company on my blog. From now on, I will be more careful who I allow on this blog.

  1. Hi Devonay,
So good to hear from you! And I'm sorry that she had a bad experience. I've read alot of feng shui books and I think they all differ so much, it's really difficult to know who is right or wrong, know what I mean? I do think it is an amazing concept though and I know that big companies use it so that they are financially successful. Also, it's interesting that feng shui people will never put white comforters on their beds...it's not good luck!! (I made sure not to have white!)

  2. See? That's one I missed! My Mom used one concerning goldfish in the financial area of my Dad's office (he had no idea). He was successful for many years. When she passed away, he got rid of the fish, his business declined... coincidence? Maybe. Interesting though.

  3. i am sorry that a reader had such a bad experience, but those experiences happen everywhere. big box stores, small online stores. how can a person know how to prevent that?

my coworker is very into feng shui. the only thing i know is that my stairs leading straight to the front door is bad, but there's no changing that. wish i could, tho!
