The Ugly Truth

I've been in "The Zone" this week. The Crafting Zone. Due to storage constraints in the temporary apartment, I have only had bits and pieces to work with. So, when I found out that the new house still has an indefinite move-in date, I had to bring the rest of my craft supplies with me.

To my delight, not so much Lumpkin's, I have been craft happy for days!
The only problem is, I have so many ideas, that I don't know where to start, so I usually start more than two projects at a time! The pieces above have been prepped, dried, now have been painted and are waiting the next creative steps.

Since I never know what direction I'm going in next, I find it helpful to have all of my supplies, pretty bits, papers, etc. all around.

One thing that Lumpkin and I agree on, I need an organizational system. That would be much easier if our living arrangements were more permanent. For now, I'm using plastic totes, laundry baskets, cardboard boxes, pencil boxes, an older suitcase given to me by a family friend and plastic bags.

My friend was creeped out by the head below... he says it's not normal for someone to have this in their home. I say it is. Especially if you're making headbands and your model is in school all day!

I'm not alone in this chaos... I brought Leia's favorite blanket out and she likes to lie down beside the table while I'm working. She really doesn't care how messy it is at all!

Stay tuned! In the next couple of days I'll be sharing what I've been up to!

Creative Girl On The Inside Screaming To Get Out

I just love that! I found it on Pinterest. It speaks to me. Isn't that what art/creating is all about? Pouring yourself onto your work and sharing it with someone you've never met... being a bright spot in their day, calling to some happy memory in their heart... I want to learn new techniques, create beautiful things, speak to someone's heart. I believe I can, and so I will... it's just a matter of finding the time. Darn this need to work for a living...

Inspiration

I bought the newest issue of Stampers' Sampler. It was the first time I've purchased it. I swear! I could buy every Stampington publication and never leave my chair. They have amazing artists and I so enjoy their work. Turns out, they put a template in each issue and challenge their readers to come up with creations to submit. Guess what I'm going to be doing the next couple of days? It has a deadline of January 15th, so time is a wasting!!!

Handcrafted also offers the work of amazing artists.

I do LOVE ME SOME APRONS!!!

The cover project was not my favorite in this issue, but it had some really cool ideas inside.

And my most favorite of all. The magazine that began the love affair for me... Where Women Create. I salivate over each issue I get my hands on, and cry tears of sadness when I miss the newest issue. I dream of being one of those women with an amazing studio and the ability to create full time. If you're not currently reading any of these, pick one up! I know you'll love them too! If you can't find one at your favorite Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's, you can visit the Stampington website. They also offer lots of cool craft supplies. You'll thank me!
