A Post From Your Long-Lost Blogger!

Hello My Bloggie Friends!!!

I know I've been gone for a while!  I've been so incredibly busy with my new venture...

Skinny Body Care is truly changing my life!  I'm losing weight, managing an online weight loss support group and running a successful work from home business!   Please email me at devonayskinnyfiberbiz@gmail.com or visit my website at http://cut.vg/f/lifechange

I'm taking a short break from all that today and visiting my creative side.  I've signed up for the monthly kits at Scarlet Lime by Christy Tomlinson... I absolutely LOVE her work and especially her She Art!  I even made one myself...

How have you been, my friends?  And what are your plans for the Summer?  Mine are still up in the air... My Little Lumpkin turns 18 this month and is considering a move to Colorado.  As for me, I am planning a little traveling and due to my newfound freedom with my work from anywhere with wi-fi business,  I will probably spend at least one week per month where ever my baby decides to live.

I Miss My Blog Friends!

I've neglected you, my friends.  I miss you terribly!  The dust is finally starting to settle a little in my new home, and I'm longing for the friends that I have here in Blogland.   How are you?  What have you been up to?  I have so much to share with you!  I have some new projects to show you and some new recipes to share.  I have several posts planned for this week.  I hope to see you!

Brief Hiatus

 (Will the unpacking never end???)
Gypsy that I am, I've moved again!  I'm still in the process of unpacking.  I have a couple of posts in mind, but there has been a delay with the cable/internet being installed due to the asbestos in the shingles covering our rental home... sounds healthy, huh?  I just popped in to the library to take a short break from the feverish crafting I've been doing all day.  I found out about a show this weekend and I'm working like crazy to have enough items to take with me for sale.  Wish me luck!  Hopefully, I can check back in with you this weekend with an update!  Have a great rest of the week friends!!!!!

Temporary?

The temporary apartment... we're now into our second month here. Still waiting for the house we're moving into to be completed. The remodeling seems to be taking forever. A friend asked me if they were building a completely new house. Some days it feels that way.

It's not that the view is bad. Although we only have windows on one side, they face the town square, which surrounds the park. It's a second floor apartment, so we have a bird's eye view.

But do you notice the road right out front here (through the chains holding the store sign?)....
Yes, that's right. A STATE ROAD... a highway. Coming from the country, I like things kind of quiet. While it's not horrible, the morning traffic... yuck. Both bedroom windows facing the street.

Happy news though. It's all worth it for the privacy of being in your own place and having central air!!!! Sometimes it's kind of fun when Lumpkin and I peer out the blinds and watch the comings and goings of our small town. Every event is held at the park on the square. It's tough to see the other side of the square due to the trees.

It's also kind of cool, because not a lot of people even know there's an apartment up here. The building is an old building. It is three stories (would love to see that third floor), there's only one other apartment, and the downstairs is a carpet store. On the outside of the building, near the roof, it reads Masonic Temple. I imagine this building has been here for a very long time. We live next to the funeral home and across the street on the opposite corner sits the Corner Cafe. A couple of doors down from our door is our favorite Mexican restaurant, El Jefe. The library is straight through the park on the other side of the square

I'm not gonna lie though. I don't think I'll miss this sign.

Move On Hold

So far the move is on hold. The house we chose is still being remodeled. My frustration is compounded by the fact that we do not have air conditioning in the old house - roommate's choice, not mine!

Hopefully, the house will be ready by next payday. The good news is I have plenty of moving help from my church friends. I'll keep you updated! Hope your week is great!!

Again!

Lumpkin and I are moving again. This makes four times in two years. All told, well over forty moves for me since the age of eighteen. Just when I'm feeling like the worst Mom in the world, Lindsay says "I can't wait to move! It's exciting every time!" What a kid! As much as we love our good friend Hasseman, it's just not working out. Living together is tough and I don't want our friendship to suffer. He was in a bind, we were in a bind, and thought we could pool resources. Losing the job I had and being unemployed for two months made a bad financial situation worse. Then take into account a new, lower-paying job, longer commute and new bills and something's gotta give. So we are moving back to the small town we were living in (ten minutes away) for cheaper rent, lower utilities and the privacy that we had living alone. Just wanted to give my blog friends the heads-up that I may be MIA while making the move. Thanks for understanding!

No Job, But I've Been So Busy!!!

Not our house, but you get the drift...

I haven't found a new job yet, but it has been crazy busy. After the move, we've been settling in to the new house, cleaning, painting and unpacking.
I chose this pic because the paint is so close to the color I chose for my new bedroom. And because my awesome roommate helped me paint... We spent 3, yes I said 3, hours removing two layers of wallpaper from ONE wall. Crazy!!!

I am not stressing about a new job because I know it will happen. This is the best and most relaxed I've felt in almost two years. They say everything happens for a reason and I believe it! I was miserable, but would never have left that job on my own.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here! I have not completed one craft or gift project that I intended to do in the last month. I hope to finish all of the tedious chores this week so I can begin creating by the weekend! I have a Christmas Bazaar that I'll be working on Saturday. I will have a booth for my Just Jewelry business. Please visit my web page if you haven't had a chance to yet. I have perfect Christmas gifts priced affordably!

Have a great week my blog friends!!
